3/21/2013- Adhering to the
old adage... "Better late than never"....ALI has
been busy improving the Rdb Controller product set over the
past year. Updates and company information will be posted in a
more timely manner in the future. The recent lapse occurred as
a result of personnel changes, medical absentees, and being
pulled in "six directions at once"!
11/17/11- ALI is in the process
of changing its telephone contact number. The old number of
803-648-5931 will remain active for a few months. The new
numbers which are active NOW are 1-803-761-0056
or 1-803-640-2180.
4/15/11- The recent announcement
by Oracle to no longer support the Itanium platform will NOT
have an affect on our Rdb Controller toolset
development/support plans. ALI will continue to support Rdb on
ALL its platforms.
2/23/11- Rdb Controller helps in
cross-database migrations. DBTune reports and scripts can make
migrating to SQL Server, or another SQL database easier.
12/29/2010- HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our customers and product
users. Contact ALI for information on updates and special
offers!
06/01/10- Updates and error corrections are available for
the ENTIRE Rdb Controller package. Check your current version,
or contact ALI for update information.

10/03/09- Updates to DBXact 60
to provide support for Rdb 7.2.4.0 on Alpha and Itanium have
been added to the online download kit.
09/28/09- Updates to DBTune 61
to provide additional support for older versions of Rdb 6.x on
Alpha are now available as part of the "standard"
DBTune download kit. Updates to DBTune 61 for Itanium
processors have been added to the Itanium kit, and are now
available on-line.
07/18/09- Release updates for
Rdb 7.2.3.5 are now available. Additionally, all 7.2.x.x
DBXact patches are now integrated into the main download
version of DBXact 60 for Itanium processors. Anyone wanting the
"incremental" patches to their older DBXact 60
product to support an individual, specific Rdb release in this
set can contact ALI for the smaller "patch" kit if
desired, or they may simply download and re-install DBXact 60
from this www site. .
04/08/09- Release updates for
Rdb 7.2.3.4 are now available
02/15/09- Oracle has recalled
release 7.2.3.3 of Rdb due to recently discovered
"bugs". ALI will be preparing a new release of Rdb
Controller to accommodate the new release once a stable
version is posted by Oracle, Updates will be posted here.
09/19/08- Rdb Controller's
DBTune 6.1 has been released for Rdb on Alpha and
Itanium ( contact ALI directly for Vax tool support) . New
features include extensive support for vertical/horizontal
partitioning. Sizing and tuning is now specific to the
individual partition, and allows DBA input for specific
partitions. Additional support for non-English keyboards has
also been added based on user requests. Expanded use of SQL
EXPORT/IMPORT for "partial" database tunes
has also been added. Additional information is found in the
V61 manual. See the Tool

5/9/06-An update for Rdb Controller V6 is
now available, and may be downloaded from our new download
service as the full DBTune V6 kit. Issues addressed were
the proper handling of free space on bound volume sets, and
the addition of a logical "flag" to ignore actual
available free space on target disks by assuming the available
space is unlimited ( primarily for the benefit of those
performing "dry runs" and NOT for those generating
scripts to be run against actual production systems).
4/11/06- Rdb Controller V6 is
now available for general use, and may be downloaded (along
with documentation) from our new download
service.
3/23/06- ANNOUNCEMENT:
